Accreditation Programmes

CAMP CHALLENGE, in conjunction with FOCUS Adventure and P1 PowerBoats, runs several in-house Accreditation Programmes which will allow accredited instructors to conduct the respective activities in our sites.

TEAM CHALLENGE HOURGLASS Instructor Accreditation

Objective
The purpose of this accreditation programme is to provide the participant with a standardized understanding of the skills essential to perform effectively as an instructor on the TEAM CHALLENGE HOURGLASS (TCH).

 

Course Outline

  1. Introduction to TCH
  2. Introduction to TCH Climbing Equipment and Continuous Belay System
  3. TCH emergency procedures
  4. Instructor ethics on TCH

 

Passing Requirement
Participants must demonstrate the following course requirements:

  1. Instructional skills
  2. Basic technical handling of climbing equipment
  3. Respond to emergencies
  4. Comfortable with heights

 

Award

  • Certified TCH Instructor
  • This certification allows the instructor to guide groups on the TCH, under the supervision of a Certified TCH Supervisor

 

Course Duration

  • 1 day
  • 9.30am – 6pm

 

Pre-requisite

  1. CAMP CHALLENGE Instructor (i.e. attended a CAMP CHALLENGE Basic Instructor Course)
  2. Some experiences in adventure climbing

Abseiling Instructor Accreditation

Objective
The purpose of this accreditation programme is to provide CAMP CHALLENGE instructors with a standardized understanding of the skills essential to dispatch participants for abseiling.

 

Course Outline

  1. Setting up of abseil station
  2. Abseil dispatch and management
  3. Emergency protocols

 

Passing Requirement
Participants must demonstrate the following course requirements:

  1. Sound risk analysis and management
  2. Safe and proper set up of abseil station
  3. Execution of abseil dispatch procedures
  4. Effective management of participants at abseil station

 

Award

  • CAMP CHALLENGE Accredited Abseiling instructor
  • This accreditation allows instructors to dispatch participants for abseiling

 

Course Duration

  • 1 day
  • 9.30am – 6pm

 

Pre-requisite

  1. CAMP CHALLENGE Instructor with a rank of Assistant Instructor.
  2. Possesses at least 1 year of experience running CAMP CHALLENGE programs.
  3. Possesses a min. of Abseiling Level 2 certification.

Station Master Accreditation

Objective
The purpose of this accreditation programme is to provide CAMP CHALLENGE instructors with a standardized understanding of the skills essential to perform effectively as a Station Master for High Elements.

 

Course Outline

  1. Understanding and crafting up Risk Assessment Measures (R.A.Ms)
  2. Designing of wet weather plans to bring across similar experience and learning outcomes
  3. Introduction to High Elements Equipment and Belay System
  4. Understanding fall factor
  5. High Elements emergency procedures
  6. Basic maintenance of High Elements

 

Passing Requirement
Participants must demonstrate the following course requirements:

  1. Be able to craft out a comprehensive R.A.Ms for modular activities
  2. Demonstrate a level of understanding to plan a wet weather plan for modular activities
  3. Demonstrate a level of understanding to perform rescue
  4. Be able to reset a runner cord for a High Elements station

 

Award

  • Accredited Station Master
  • This certification allows instructors to supervise Station Instructors and participants in the activities requiring a presence of Station Master.

 

Course Duration

  • 2 days
  • 9.30am – 6pm daily

 

Pre-requisite

  1. CAMP CHALLENGE instructor with a rank of Assistant Instructor
  2. Possesses at least 1 year of experience running CAMP CHALLENGE programmes
  3. Possesses a min. of Sport Climbing Level 2 certification
TEAM CHALLENGE HOURGLASS Supervisor Accreditation

Objective
The course is designed for experienced instructors who intend to lead groups on the TCH. The purpose of this course is to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to safely supervise participants and lead other instructors on the TCH.

 

Course Outline

  1. Risk assessment and management
  2. Situation awareness and decision making
  3. Instructor management and supervision
  4. Flight-line dispatch and management
  5. Programming and facilitation

 

Passing Requirement
Participants must demonstrate the following course requirements:

  1. Sound risk analysis and management
  2. Execution of flight-line dispatch procedures
  3. Effective group management skills

 

Award

  • Certified TCH Supervisor
  • This certification allows participants to lead groups and manage certified TCH instructors on the TCH

 

Course Duration

  • 2 days
  • 9.30am – 6pm daily

 

Pre-requisite

  1. CAMP CHALLENGE instructor with a rank of Qualified Instructor
  2. TCH Instructor certification
  3. 15 programs as a TCH instructor
SeaOPS Basic Dragonboat Coxswain Accreditation

Course Objective
The purpose of this accreditation course is to provide the participants with a standardized understanding of the skills essential to perform effectively as a dragon boat coxswain (DB CX) at sea in an Adventure Learning environment.

 

Course Outline

  1. Introduction to Dragon Boating
  2. Basic techniques of controlling a dragon boat and commanding a novice crew
  3. Operate marine VHF radio
  4. Emergency procedures
  5. Debriefing techniques

 

Passing Requirement
Participants must demonstrate the following course requirements:

  1. Be able to command a novice crew
  2. Basic technical handling of rudder – able to steer a dragon boat straight, reverse and figure 8 course
  3. Be able to execute man overboard and capsize drill

 

Award

  1. Accredited Sea Dragon Boating Coxswain (DB CX)
  2. This certification allows the DB CX to cox a novice crew in a non-competitive condition and debrief the team on their dragon boating experience

  • 2 days
  • 9am – 6pm

 

Pre-requisite

  • Able to swim 50m with PFD
