Thank you CAMP CHALLENGE and the TEAM in supporting our student expedition. It was our first Sailing Expedition for this module and I thought the students benefited very much from their experience. Andrew and Am were our Skippers. Besides learning about Sailing, the students also learnt about Singapore shipping history and future developments. On the last day, we went to MCYS building and Fort Canning Hill for exploration. At those areas, we found out more about the old spice shipping trade as well as the early modern trading at Singapore River (before Keppel was built).
The learning from the exploration tied in nicely with the sharing by Andrew; the students get to understand the history of shipping and the economic importance to Singapore till now. The sailing experience from CAMP CHALLENGE significantly enhanced our learning journey in this programme.
I will like to thank Magdelene and Peixi for making this expedition possible.
Andrew and Am, for sharing their Sailing knowledge and history with such enthusiasm.
Lastly, I will like to thank the other crew members e.g. Sheena, Richard etc for helping our students through sharing and encouragement.
